This snake had just been killed on the road. This snake was nearly 7 feet long, although it's hard to tell that in this shot. It's the first, and hopefully last of this kind of snake I hope to ever come across. If I'm correct, this is what is called a coach-whip or black-runner here in Mississippi. They will chase you down. I've heard also that they will whip you and thrash around wildly. I believe these are also poisonous and will bite! Update: This snake is not a coach whip or black runner. It is in fact a King snake. King snakes are beneficial as they eat rodents such as rats, plus they also kill other other snake species.

Snake-Black Runner
This snake had just been killed on the road. This snake was nearly 7 feet long, although it's hard to tell that in this shot.
